A puppy or a Devil?

By: Clocky I GOT A PUPPY!!! Let me start by saying WELCOME to my newest family member and my biggest hater - Lilith or Lily for short! On June 20th, 2026 I welcomed a new 9 week old puppy in to my home and life. This adoption happened rather fast but maybe for good reason?

This past March 2026 my partner and I lost our best friend - our 9 year old Bernese Mountain dog, Abby. She was the greatest dog you could ever even begin to dream of. It was really really hard on us and we still do not feel the same without her. She was so sweet. Had the silliest mannerisms and was so funny. She was my first ever dog. She made me laugh, she supported me when I cried, she stayed by my side all hours of the day and night while I crafted cosplays, she was so gentle with our two cats. I really still do not like to imagine my days without her and I often still look for her around. When we lost her we were devastated and did not know what our future held as far as a new dog. Enter Lilith - the Devil dog, a 9 week old Bernie-doodle. Nah, she's not actually Devil of course but wow... Those puppy stages!! As I stated, Abby was my first ever dog, so what does that make Lily? My first puppy. Now I have raised plenty of kittens but a puppy is just another beast entirely. She is deep in her teething and high energy play stages and still doesn't quite know how to control herself. I must say, those play bites HURT! I told you this happened fast, but how fast and why? Well on Friday June 19th my partner got a call from his cousin that an older couple adopted her. The wife wanted this new puppyy and the husband helped her adopt the dog. After adoption (about 2 days) the older man realized how difficult it would be to raise this puppy and take care of his wife who has progressive dementia. It was just going to be too much for him. So the cousin called my partner and he came to ask me. We had JUST started coming to terms with the idea of getting a new dog and BAM. A dog. We have now had her for 2 weeks, today as I am writing this, and wow. She's just the cutest. She is so silly, sweet, and SO smart. She's learning tricks VERY quickly and filling us with lots of love and joy. She's even slowly starting to get along decent with one of the cats (she's a bouncy puppy so it is a bit overwhelming for them). We already love her so much and we often think of Abby but Lily came to us fast and is helping us love and heal. I can't wait till she's done teething.... I mean I can't wait to have life of adventures with her
