4AM Road trip in, Kal-El?
Some trips are about the destination. Some are about the convention, and then there are the trips where you're not really sure what you're walking into, you just know you need to be in the room.
That's VidSummit for us.

This is our first time attending VidSummit, a creator focused event bringing together video creators, YouTubers, digital entrepreneurs, editors, brands, managers, and productions teams. the 2026 event runs September 29- October 1st at the Irving Convention Center in the Dallas area. That's right this is an event during the week not a weekend.
We're not heading to Dallas specifically to create a bunch of content. We're going to network, learn, meet people, make connections, and see what possibilities come from simply putting ourselves in the room. And, of course, we're turning it into a road trip because apparently we don't know how to do anything normally.
4AM... AGAIN!
The alarm goes off and you guessed it, it's set for 4am! Yes, 4 in the morning!
The good news? This trip is MUCH easier to pack for and a "short" drive. We're not preparing for a week long trip (that's scheduled for next week), so we can actually pack lifght. One suitcase that isn't even full and a much lighter tech bag. Honestly, the suspiciously empty suitcase feels wrond.
Meet Kal-El
There is one big difference with this trip.
Baymax is staying home.
On the way back from Minneapolis, Baymax's oil pressure light came on. We're hoping it's something simple, like a drain plug issue that is known for this make and model, but we won't know till we return.
We NEED Baymax ready for our next big trip NYCC.
So for this adventure, we're putting the miles on our truck Kal-El.

Kal-El
Kal-El is usually our personal truck and daily driver. He's been on some trips with us, but nothing compared to the ridiculous amount of road time Baymax has accumulated.
And honestly, hes a pretty comforable road trip vehicle. The heated seats are definitely getting used.
The biggest adjustment is the charging. Baymax can go roughly 500 miles before we need a quick gas stop. Kal-El cando around 180 highway miles before we need to charge. That's where the EV road trip math gets interesting. A gas stop can be three minutes, while charging can take around 45 minutes. But great news Bucees has EV charging stations,
Dallas is "ONLY" five hours away
We head out of San Antonio and make our way north. We pass Austin and eventually make it to Temple about 168 miles into the trip. This is wehre we make our first stop.

Buc-ee's
Kal-El gets plugged in while we head inside for of course potty breaks and a small snack run. We stretch our legs, grabbing road snacks, and letting the truck get some juice. Honestly, this isn't such a bad way to do the EV road trip thing.

Special Shout out to Texas Tea
Before we go any further, I have to give a special shout out to Texas Tea. They have already been a part of one of our adventures with a nice PR package. But they also provided us with the passes to get into VidSummit.
That kind of support means a lot to us. We are still small creators trying to finure out things as we go, so every brand that takes a chance on us and supports what we are building becomes part of the journey.
And we're genuinely grateful.
Thank you Texas Tea
Wait... WHAT?!
We are sitting there waiting for the last bit of charging when an email come in.
Suddenly... okay, hold up.
Something we've been working on with a major brand has officially been released as a PR article.
And there it is
Con Culture
our name
in a PR Newswire Release!
And not just randomly buried somewhere. We're listed alongside some seriously huge creators who are part of the Dove Men+Care booth for New Your Comic Con. The release specifically names Con Culture alondside Andrew McLean, Gideon, and Frankly Built with the campaign centered around the Max Pack and NYCC 2026.
You can read the full release here:
Now we are sitting here thinking...
We're literally on our way to an event where we're going to network with creators. We're talking about meeting people, learning from people who are further along, makeing connections, and seeing wherer this next part of our journey takes us.
And whilre we are driving there...
We're officially being mentioned in a major brand's news release alongside creators we've watched and followed. That feeling is hard to explain. It's that weird moment where you still feel like a little fish in a REALLY big pond. But, Somehow we are already getting opportunities that make you stop and stare at your phone like..
Wait.... We're actually doing this!
A little fish in a REALLY big pond
I think that's probably the biggest reason we're exvited about VidSummit. We're not walking into this thinking we're the biggest creators in the room. We are still learning, still growing, still figureing out what this whole creator business thing looks like fro us. But we're also not standing outside the pond anymore. We are in it, and sometimes you have to jump into a much bigger pond before you find out what you're capable of. So that's what we are doing. We are showing up, we are listening, we are meeting people, we are asking questions, we are making connections, and we are seeing what happens.
Okay okay back on track
After our little "Holy crap, our name is in a PR Newswire Realase" moment we are back on the road.
Follow up emails are sent, Kal-El is fully charged, snacks are acquired and we're officially in that we got this mindset.
This isn't our usual convention adventure this is just a couple creators with the ambition to make this work. A couple creators ready to learn, listen, question and make connections. This is the exciting part of the unknown work of creativity.
