A Proshot done RIGHT

Hey Conculture it's Clocky! Where have I been?? Why no SDCC for me?? I took a much needed month off! I had been traveling almost every weekend since mid February and I had so much work to catch up on and to prep for our big upcoming events! I had also recently adopted a young puppy and needed to be home for early training (mentioned in my last blog! Check it out she's a cutie!). It was a long month of missing my team but I got a lot of things straightened out on my work schedule and did some things to treat myself! A small thing I did that had a huge impact on me was seeing the Hadestown Proshot in theaters! As a proud member of Conculture I would like to say I fall into a very enthusiastic and loving nerd family. I love to geek out over anything and everything. But one thing I love so dearly, yet isn't widely accessible is THEATER. The route of all performance. The very beginnings and definition of creativity and art. This month they released the Hadestown Proshot with the original cast members and I KNEW I had to see it. Every nerd wants to see a show on Broadway but how many people really can afford to make the trek? So how do we keep theater alive and thriving? Digital! I would choose live theater over a recording any day but I also want to rewatch my favorite shows over and over and OVER. Now we have proshots! Remember Hamilton? Of course you do! It was the first major proshot to get attention and set the stage! Now we have Hadestown! This recording was BEAUTIFUL. I can not even begin to tell you how many times I sat sobbing in the theater. The actors put on the performance of a lifetime and you could FEEL the power through the screen. Our lady of the Underworld, Amber Gray, had me utterly enraptured the whole show. Patrick Page's performance had me shaking in my seat. Eva Noblezada's voice had me frozen in time. Reeve Carney has me hoping, just PRAYING, this time he wouldn't turn around. When I tell you I am obsessed.. It is an understatement. The camera work was outstanding. The movie audience was able to see details and facial expressions a theater seat may never be able to see. It told an unbelievably powerful story and made you believe that somehow it was not going to be a tragedy.

The success of the proshot was so loud theaters could not help but add more showtimes. This is a huge showing for theater and is so well needed. I hope with all my heart that we are able to get a digital release so we can take this home and I hope with all my heart this opens the doors for more theater performances to be recorded so the whole world can have access to the art of theater and stage.
